Activities at Ekely

The good working conditions at Ekely are reflected in Munch’s large and colourful production from these years, inspired by the surroundings. Here Munch painted some of his most iconic works, such as Model by the Wicker Chair (1919–21), Starry Night (1922–24) and Self-portrait. Between the Clock and the Bed (1940–43).

This summer you can visit Ekely and in an exhibition based on documentary material such as reproductions, photographs and an audio-visual presentation experience what it was like during Munch’s time.
